Highlights

In 2018, UNICEF Indonesia conducted an assessment of a project utilizing the Adolescent Kit that had been implemented between 2015 and 2018. The review assessed the implementation of the Adolescent Kit, and the extent to which the Kit achieved its objectives in building competencies and promoting greater participation for adolescents in community decision making. Successes, challenges and useful lessons for improving future implementation were identified. Recommendations to increase the synergy and sustainability of use of the Adolescent Kit within the work of government partners were outlined. The assessment used a combination of methodologies including document review, interviews with key informants from in-country UNICEF staff, local partners, government officials and village leaders as well as group discussions with Adolescent Kit facilitators, parents teachers and adolescents. A number of project locations in two districts were visited and two participatory sessions were conducted.
