Reaching the Most Vulnerable with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
EQUIPPING HOMES, SCHOOLS AND ESSENTIAL HEALTH CARE CENTRES WITH THE SERVICES THEY NEED
Highlights
UNICEF is supporting at-risk communities with climate-resilient water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services at home, in schools and health care facilities. The work seeks to strengthen beneficiaries’ ability to anticipate, adapt to - and recover from - the negative effects of cyclones, floods, drought and climate change. Additionally, support has been given for humanitarian responses following cholera outbreaks, tropical Cyclone Idai, drought and the COVID pandemic, through the restoration of essential services, as well as through build-back-better approaches towards climate-resilient services.
