The Assistive Technology (AT) Country Capacity Assessment (2022) used the WHO ATA-Capacity tool designed by WHO to map and assess the AT context in Zambia. The study used the core domains recommended by WHO when using the ATA, namely data and information systems, stakeholder landscape, policy and financing, products and procurement systems, human resource as well as provision of Assistive Products services. Among other findings, it was reported that health personnel responsible for AT service provision was inadequate and that 73.2% of those who needed an Assistive Device did not receive it.
