This challenge is part of a communication campaign launched by UNICEF Viet Nam to raise awareness about air pollution.
How to participate
Detailed criteria
WHAT DOES A “STANDARD” SUBMISSION INCLUDE?
Your entry should meet the following criteria:
Content:
- Present a clear idea or initiative aimed at improving air quality, applicable to your community, school, or local area.
- The idea should be action-oriented and feasible — it can be a brand-new solution or an improvement to an existing activity.
- You may focus on aspects such as behavioral change, communication, technology, product, or organizational model.
Format:
- 01 image or design sketch or high-quality digital scan of a hand-drawn illustration (JPEG/PNG file, maximum 10MB).
- 01 written description (250–350 words, in Word or PDF file) including:
- Title of the idea
- The problem you want to address (in your community/school/local area, etc.)
- Description of your solution/idea
- Target beneficiaries, scope, implementation plan, resources, and involved parties
- Expected impact (community benefits, outcomes, scalability)
- A personal message or call to action for the community
- (For “Go Green with AI” entries): list the AI tools used to support your design/image.
Language: Vietnamese
Originality: The work must be original and not previously awarded or published in other competitions. Participants are responsible for the copyright of all submitted materials (images, AI prompts, etc.).
Step-by-step instructions for participation
HOW TO JOIN THE CONTEST?
Follow these simple steps to participate:
Step 1: Register as a member of the “1-Minute Green” community.
Step 2: Unleash your creativity and develop your own idea!
Step 3: Post your contest entry in the “1-Minute Green” Facebook Group.
Valid entries will be reviewed and approved by the admin team, who will notify you once approved.
Step 4: Submit your entry through the official Google Form following these steps:
- Fill in your personal information completely.
- Attach the link to your approved post in the “1-Minute Green” group.
- Upload your contest materials as required.
- Tick the box “I confirm that this work is my original idea and I take full responsibility in case of disputes.” before submission.
For participants under 14 years old: Parents must complete the “Parental Consent Form” and submit it to the Organizing Committee.
Evaluation criteria
HOW WILL YOUR IDEAS BE EVALUATED?
Everyone has great ideas — but to make yours stand out, please take note of the following evaluation criteria:

1. Creativity and Originality | 40% | - The idea is new, uncommon, and presents a creative approach to addressing air pollution. - Clearly shows personal thinking and originality; not copied from other sources. |
2. Feasibility and Practical Application | 20% | - The solution can be realistically implemented in schools, communities, or local areas. - Fits with Vietnam’s actual conditions and available resources.- Includes an implementation plan, steps, or specific proposals. |
3. Positive Community Impact / Level of Influence | 20% | - The idea, if applied, contributes to improving air quality and raising environmental awareness. - Includes educational aspects or spreads meaningful messages to peers, families, and communities. - Inspires and motivates others to take action. |
4. Presentation and Clarity of Idea | 20% | - The image, drawing, or design is clear, visually appealing, and effectively conveys the main idea. - The written explanation (250–350 words) is coherent, easy to understand, and logically structured. - Includes full information about tools used (especially for the “Go Green with AI” category).- Meets requirements for format, file size, and submission deadline. |
Participants will be invited to join an online training session on Air Pollution Awareness and Tools for Idea Creation, organized by UNICEF and environmental experts.
The official webinar will take place from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2024. Participants who are unable to attend the live session can watch the recorded video posted on “1-Minute Green”.

What will you gain from joining?
For all valid participants:
All approved submissions published in the 1-Minute Green group will receive an official UNICEF Certificate of Participation (digital certificate via email).

Special recognition:
Winning ideas will be showcased at an Air Pollution Awareness Exhibition in Ha Noi in early December 2025, and winners will receive a UNICEF Award Certificate.

Important notes
- By participating, contestants grant the Organizing Committee (OC) the right to use their works and related information for non-commercial communication purposes.
- The OC reserves the right to reject or disqualify submissions that violate the law, social ethics, or copyright regulations.
- Contestants are fully responsible for any copyright disputes or complaints arising from non-compliance.
- Decisions of the OC and Jury Panel are final.
