Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion and UNICEF launch child protection online platform to help improve child protection services
Dili, 21 June 2021. The Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI) launched a Child Protection Online Platform today, which will help enhance the provision of child protection services across the country. The Platform, which will provide child protection related information at a single source, was developed with support from UNICEF with funding from the Government of Australia.
The Child Protection Online Platform contains a number global and Timor-Leste specific resources for child protection officers, community workers, parents, and the general public. The resources include training modules on child protection, guidelines and protocols for reporting child rights issues, resources for parents and information on COVID-19 prevention.
This is the first time child protection related information is available on a single official platform online. It could be found at Ministériu Solidariedade Sosiál no Inkluzaun – COVID-19 and Child Protection Portal (mss.gov.tl)
In the coming months, additional features will be developed so Child Protection Officers can directly and securely access case management tools while they are in communities, and provide the specific support required by individual children.
