The Children and Young People's Agenda
Hopes and dreams for Tanzania
Highlights
The Agenda, developed by children and young people, forms the basis of public and policy advocacy around critical issues for children and young people. It was launched on November 20th, 2019 (World Children's Day) and the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC30), one of the world’s most-ratified human rights treaty.
During the CRC@30 year-long campaign, over 9 million children and young people across the country were sensitized on their rights. They were mobilized and came together to design the Children and Young People’s Agenda – a declaration of their hopes for Tanzania’s future.
The Agenda is therefore a compilation of their voices and remains a ‘live document’ and feeds into the way forward in terms of advocacy with policy-makers.
