UNICEF Celebrates World Children’s Day at School No. 5 in Hisor
Hisor, 6 December 2025 - UNICEF Tajikistan joined students, teachers, and the wider school community of School No. 5 in Hisor to celebrate World Children’s Day with a vibrant and joyful event dedicated to children’s rights, well-being, and future opportunities.
World Children’s Day, marked globally on 20 November, commemorates the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and highlights the importance of ensuring that every child enjoys their rights to education, safety, health, and equal opportunities.
During the celebration at School No. 5, children engaged in music, games, dances, and interactive activities that fostered friendship, inclusion, and understanding. Students also shared messages about the kind of future they envision and why it is vital for every child to grow up safe, supported, and heard.
As part of the celebration, members of UNICEF’s Young People Advisory Group (YPAG) facilitated an engaging session for schoolchildren on the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Through discussions, interactive activities, and child‑friendly explanations, the session helped students better understand their rights and why these rights matter in their daily lives.
A key message highlighted throughout the event was UNICEF’s call for adults to listen to children and consider their voices in decisions that affect their lives and futures, a central theme of World Children’s Day that unites communities around the world in advocating for a more just, safe, and child-friendly environment for every child.
