Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 12 November 2025. A new collaboration between Alif and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) will strengthen support for parents and expand opportunities for young people across Tajikistan from 2025 to 2027.

Through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding, the Alif Bank and UNICEF commit to working together to promote positive parenting practices and provide young people with enhanced access to digital skills, financial literacy, and employability training.

“At Alif Bank, we are delighted to be part of this partnership. Together with UNICEF, we will focus on strengthening financial literacy and supporting parents. I am confident that this is just the beginning, and that we will achieve a great deal throughout this project.” Gulanor Atobek, Alif Bank СEO.

As part of the collaboration, 500–600 parents will be empowered with positive parenting practices through targeted activities and tools, including the introduction and dissemination of UNICEF’s BEBBO parenting application. These efforts aim to support Alif Bank staff in adopting evidence-based approaches that nurture children’s early development and overall well-being.

“This partnership is more than numbers—it is about hope, dignity, and opportunity. It is about giving young people the tools to dream big and the means to achieve those dreams. It is about building a future where every young person in Tajikistan can contribute to—and benefit from—the country’s growth and prosperity.” Arthur van Diesen, UNICEF Representative in Tajikistan.

Over the next two years, the partnership will also support 5,000 young people with digital skills and financial literacy, while providing 500–1,000 young people with employability opportunities and market linkages. By equipping young people with the competencies and pathways needed to succeed, the initiative seeks to help them thrive in an increasingly digital and competitive labour market.

This collaboration will harness the combined expertise and networks of both organizations to support national progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in the areas of quality education, industry and innovation, reduced inequalities, and partnerships. Joint activities outlined in the MoU include initiatives aimed at broadening outreach, increasing awareness, and building meaningful engagement with children, young people, and parents.

The new partnership establishes a framework for deeper cooperation, with both sides committed to mobilizing Alif Bank’s support of UNICEF’s work and to building sustainable, impactful programmes that benefit communities across Tajikistan.
