Highlights

Since 2005, the UN has adopted a cluster system to coordinate how humanitarian partners prepare and respond to emergencies. The clusters bring together UN and non-UN partners around 15 technical areas of humanitarian action, guided by the Humanitarian Action Plan.

In Somalia, UNICEF leads the Nutrition Cluster with WFP, co-leads the WASH Cluster with the Polish Humanitarian Action, and co-leads the Child Protection Area of Responsibility and Education Cluster with Save the Children. With the cluster partners, we assist many more people.
