Highlights
This brief presents the findings of the Joint Evaluation of the Improving Access to WASH in Rural Fishing Communities Programme implemented between 2019 and 2023 in Bonthe, Pujehun, Port Loko and Western Rural districts. Funded by the Government of Iceland and implemented by the Government of Sierra Leone and UNICEF, the USD 5 million programme aimed to expand access to safe drinking water, improve sanitation, and promote hygiene behaviour change in some of the country’s most marginalized communities. The evaluation highlights significant gains and the remaining challenges.
