Incubator Delivery to KBC Zemun

Visiting a maternity is always emotional for me because we see in practice that the way how children are supported in their first moment can shape their whole future – their health outcomes, their learning outcomes, their whole life.

I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and health professionals here at Hospital Zemun for their expertise and dedication. Every day, they are there for families during some of the most important moments of their lives.

And we see that behind every incubator, every piece of equipment and every investment in healthcare, there is a child and there is a family.

Today’s delivery of two incubators became possible due to the generous donation of OTP Bank of more than 130,000 USD. This was one of the largest corporate contributions UNICEF Serbia received last year. I would like to thank OTP Bank for recognizing that investing in children is one of the most important investments a society can make.

Strengthening neonatal care is at the heart of UNICEF’s mission. Every incubator, every trained nurse, every supported physician, helps build a stronger health system that can support families in their most vulnerable moments.

Serbia has made important progress in improving newborn health over the years and reducing neonatal mortality 2.89 (2024) and our goal is to get below 3 per 1000 live births in all regions of the country as in most EU countries it is below 2.
