Beware of false messages and scams on social networks

Warning about fraud and false messages
It’s possible that you have received or seen online messages on social networks or WhatsApp promising cash prizes or requesting your personal information in the name of UNICEF and UNICEF FOUNDATION. These claims are absolutely FALSE.
UNICEF does not give any kind of money prize through any channel, either online or physically. This is a scam attempt to take advantage of people’s trust.
UNICEF has identified the existence of a fraudulent website and social media accounts that are using the name of UNICEF Rwanda in order to defraud people and steal their personal information. We encourage you to remain alert, avoid visiting any unofficial links or websites claiming to represent UNICEF. Do not give out personal information on those sites.

The best way to stay informed, protected and avoid falling for these types of scams and tricks is to know which are the official channels of UNICEF. You can follow us through our social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube with the username @unicefrwanda, where we share relevant and reliable information. In addition, we invite you to keep in mind and visit our official website https://www.unicef.org/rwanda
