About

Abstract:

Despite significant efforts to address child labour and to protect children with disabilities, far less attention has been paid to the intersections between the two issues. Yet too many children acquire physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities from child labour, and too many children with disabilities are recruited into child labour. This Advocacy Brief stresses the urgent need to understand the links between child labour and disability, to analyze the contributing factors involved, and to take coordinated action to address the root causes. Which is even more urgent now with the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating the problem of child labour as many more families fall into extreme poverty.
