Highlights

The lack of access to improved sanitation facilities is a serious concern for PNG. Recognizing the low access rates and lack of significant progress in the sector, this study attempts to (a) generate evidence on the economic impacts of poor sanitation and (b) estimate the investment requirements in order to increase access to improved facilities.
