World Children's Day - November 20
Inclusion, for every child.
Let's celebrate World Children's Day, a day of action for children by children.
From climate change, education, and mental health, to ending racism and discrimination, children and young people are raising their voices on the issues that matter to their generation and calling for adults to create a better future.
For 33 years, on November 20, UNICEF celebrates the anniversary of adopting the Convention on the Rights of the Child, highlighting critical issues affecting children worldwide. Regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, or sexual orientation, every child has the right to be accepted and protected against discrimination.
Kids are standing up for a more equal and beautiful world. What will you do?
Kids take over.
Kids Takeover is one of UNICEF's most essential activities on World Children's Day, expressing our commitment to a day of action for children, by children. Such events become a way for every child to express their right to be heard, participate, and play an active role in society. For example, this year, a group of children, beneficiaries of the projects implemented by UNICEF in Moldova, "took power" at the UNICEF Moldova office, Moldcell, a digital telecommunications operator, but also at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
Be active and promote inclusion!
The UNICEF Moldova team, in collaboration with the global partner Special Olympics, is organizing a football match for children with special needs on World Children's Day, November 20. In this way, we promote the right to equality, inclusion, and development.
