Points forts

Mauritania has officially confirmed 6 cases of imported COVID-19; two recoveries and one death. As of 2 April, 61 suspicious cases were identified and tested negative, and more than 1,200 people have been quarantined.

The school suspension originally planned for 3 weeks has been extended to April 30, i.e. 7 weeks. Education programme on national television and radio are supported.

The help line set up to provide information 24 hours/7 days treated more than 72,000 calls during its first ten days.

Identification of the government's allowance beneficiaries - i.e. US$ 13,4 million dedicated to poor households in Nouakchott including women headed households, elderly and people with disabilities, has started.
