Child-Friendly Toolkit
For Meaningful Participation in Child Councils in Malaysia
Highlights
This toolkit was created to help local governments, such as city councils, in Malaysia that are part of the Child Friendly Cities Initiative (CFCI). The goal is to give them simple and useful ways to work together with children and young people. Children are anyone under the age of 18.
This toolkit shows how to:
• Involve children in real and important ways.
• Run child council meetings so everyone’s voice is heard.
• Keep all activities safe for children and teens.
This toolkit only exists because so many people came together with one shared goal:
to make sure children and young people can safely and meaningfully take part in
decisions that shape their lives.
