Highlights

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a severe economic crisis, further exacerbating food and nutrition insecurity.

The pandemic has disrupted global food supply chains, and movement restrictions have negatively impacted almost every step of agricultural distribution channels. This disruption in food production and food-related logistics and services poses a great challenge for the food system’s ability to provide sufficient, affordable and nutritious food for everyone. The consequences are likely to hit the poorest and most vulnerable groups.

This policy brief looks at the challenges brought by the pandemic and how Malaysia can mitigate the impact.
