Highlights

Description: This report details UNICEF’s response to the development, humanitarian and emergency situation experienced in 2019 by millions of children in Malawi. We are proud of what we managed to achieve together with our partners in often difficult circumstances. Last year was particularly important, as we launched the new UNICEF Malawi Country Programme 2019 - 2023. From the passage of the National Children’s Commission Act, a significant milestone towards advancing child rights, to providing emergency assistance to approximately 1 million people after Cyclone Idai, UNICEF worked closely with partners to ensure children grow up in safe, inclusive and resilient communities.
