This brief explores the state of child poverty and social protection in Lesotho, highlighting the multidimensional challenges children face in accessing basic services like education, nutrition, and health care. It assesses the impact of poverty, COVID-19, and existing social assistance programmes such as the Child Grant Programme and School Feeding Programme. Strengthened, child-sensitive social protection systems are needed to break intergenerational cycles of poverty and ensure children’s rights and well-being.
