Every Child Learns and Acquires Skills for the Future
Advocacy brief, 2023
About
With the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Government of Lesotho (GoL) committed to achieving universal completion of pre-primary, primary and secondary education by 2030, and a greater focus on inclusiveness in education, including gender parity at the pre-primary, primary and secondary school levels. Quality education is crucial for securing a successful transition to work, yet there are still significant deficits in the education system in Lesotho that translates into poor learning outcomes for children and adolescents. Strengthening equitable access to quality education is essential not only for children's development and protection but also for breaking cycles of poverty and promoting social inclusion.
