Due to the closure of schools and education centers, adolescents may be significantly affected by having to face the interruption of their educational trajectories. Consequently, in the context of the pandemic, it is essential to provide them with distance learning opportunities that are equitable and inclusive; focused on the most vulnerable populations; and that comprehends both the transmission of knowledge and the development of key skills that are necessary to succeed in school, at work and in life.

Despite having negative effects on the learning trajectories of adolescents, the temporary school closures may represent an opportunity to rethink secondary education and promote relevant transformations for relevant and quality learning.
