These guiding recommendations describe some major aspects of working with children and adolescents living with HIV or other chronic disease, along with psychological support for children and their parents. They are intended for professionals of centres for AIDS Prevention and Control, child treatment and preventive care facilities, non-governmental organizations working with children and families affected by HIV or other chronic disease, and for teaching staff of universities, colleges and schools. The approaches described herein are universal and applicable for the supervision of children with chronic disease, and their families.
