Children in the city: Studying the child-friendliness of Almaty

Highlights

The report was prepared in February-May 2018 within the framework of the Urban Forum Kazakhstan cooperation project and the UNICEF Office in Kazakhstan with the technical support of the Eurasian Cultural Alliance. A comprehensive study of the city’s child-friendliness was conducted for the first time and covers aspects of infrastructure and services for children, as well as their participation in public life. In addition, the state of play spaces and children’s use of the urban environment have been studied. The opinions and assessments published in the report reflect the position of the authors and do not necessarily coincide with the official position of the UNICEF Office in Kazakhstan.
