The Government of the Czech Republic donates 8 million CZK to support UNICEF’s COVID-19 response in Iraq.

In response to UNICEF’s Humanitarian Action for Children appeal, UNICEF Iraq has received a generous donation of 8 million CZK from the Czech Republic to support children during the pandemic. Thanks to this contribution, UNICEF Iraq will work under the leadership and in close collaboration with the national government to support the national COVID-19 response plan. UNICEF Iraq’s programmes on Health, and Risk Communication & Community Engagement emphasize the importance of regular handwashing, personal hygiene, physical distancing & other strategies to reduce the transmission. The programmes also provide support for COVID-19 vaccinations, syringes, medical supplies, equipment, and training to health authorities.
