UNICEF representative in Iran visits Pardis Technology Park

In his visit to the Pardis Technology Park (PTP) on 22 August 2022, Dr. Robin Nandy, UNICEF Representative in Iran, expressed appreciation for the collaboration and joint programmes between PTP and UNICEF.

This visit was hosted by Mr. Saffarinia, the President of the PTP. Speaking at this event, Dr. Nandy noted that innovation is in UNICEF's DNA, and welcomed cooperation with the PTP on the second "Innovation Challenge 2022" to identify innovative solutions to address challenges faced by children in the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also stressed the importance of scalability of the solutions and urged both organizations to identify ways to support scale up and sustainability of successful innovations. The first round of Innovation Challenge was held jointly in 2021 by UNICEF and the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology.

Mr. Saffarinia, expressed his readiness to expand engagement with UNICEF and suggested that future initiatives could be organized at an international level given UNICEF’s global footprint and PTP’s expanding international collaborations.  

Both parties agreed to collaborate on INOTEX 2023. INOTEX is the largest Innovation and Technology Exhibition held annually in Iran which brings together innovators, investors and traders.
