As part of its ongoing efforts to promote inclusion and expand access to children’s rights information, UNICEF Iran has launched a video presenting the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in Iranian Sign Language. Developed in collaboration with Fereshtegan International University, the video is designed to make the core principles and articles of the CRC accessible to audiences with hearing impairments.
This video presents a simplified version of the CRC, highlighting key rights in clear and accessible language. It aims to raise awareness among diverse groups, including families, teachers, social workers, and child rights advocates, supporting a broader understanding of the Convention.
The CRC, which forms the foundation of all UNICEF’s work globally and in Iran, outlines the civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights of every child. Presenting these principles in sign language helps bridge communication gaps and ensures more people can engage with and promote children’s rights.
Fereshtegan International Branch of Islamic Azad University is a higher education institution committed to serving students with disabilities and special needs, primarily individuals with hearing or visual impairments. The university plays a key role in empowering its students and advancing inclusive practices in Iran and the region.
This initiative reflects UNICEF Iran’s continued commitment to inclusive communication and public outreach, ensuring that children’s rights are understood and embraced by all, regardless of communication needs.
Now available on platforms such as Aparat and YouTube, the video serves as a valuable resource for Iranian Sign Language users and others interested in learning about the rights of children.
