A brief insight into Guyana

The Co-operative Republic of Guyana is located on the northern coast of South America with a population of 815 488 with thirty-six (36) percent being children. Operating under the Country Implementation Programme (CIP) and with a localized mutually agreed upon work plan with partners UNICEF has aligned all major initiatives under the three programme components of safety and justice, lifelong learning and social inclusion.

By providing technical, logistical and financial resources UNICEF has seen major successes in the areas of Early Childhood Development, Juvenile Justice most notable the launch of the Children's Court, Adolescent Development and Positive Discipline.
