THESSALONIKI/ATHENS 2024 - For the second year, this Easter season, from Friday 19 April to Good Saturday 4 May, with every scan of the Lidl Plus digital card, Lidl Hellas offers 0,10€ to UNICEF in support of the "Together to end violence against children” programme.
The multifaceted cooperation between Lidl Hellas and UNICEF continues for the second year, aiming at the universal support of the child protection system in Greece. In the framework of the partnership between the two organizations, a survey and analysis of available administrative data on violence against children in Greece has been carried out, as well as an in-depth training of media professionals in the implementation of good practices and their role in defending children's rights, while targeted actions to promote the interactive digital application for young people, PlaySafe, which aims to prevent violence on the internet, have also been implemented.
The next step of the two institutions is the creation of a holistic model of child protection services that will be piloted for the first time in the Municipality of Athens with the guidance and international expertise of UNICEF.
The synergy between Lidl Hellas and UNICEF is part of the wider programme for the prevention and combating of violence against children that UNICEF has agreed with the Greek government.
Lidl Hellas, focusing on the most vulnerable members of society and their needs, has consistently and responsibly stood by the side of children towards a better future.

Αbout UNICEF
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child around the world. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, and all children, everywhere.
UNICEF is financed exclusively by voluntary contributions from individuals, the private sector, foundations and UN member states, including the EU. Donor support is crucial as we create a global alliance for reaching every child without any exception.
