UNICEF Ghana launches “UNICEF TALKS” series to mark June Parenting Month
New "UNICEF Talks: Kids Edition" and peer-to-peer parent series take center stage in month-long drive to elevate family support and protect children’s right to play.
ACCRA, 1 June 2026 – UNICEF Ghana, in collaboration with government partners, has officially launched its June Parenting Month campaign, headlined by two new digital series designed to elevate the voices of children, parents and caregivers.
The month-long campaign, running under the global theme “Together for Parents,” spotlights the critical need for practical support, family-friendly policies, and community actions that help families provide safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments for every child.
To drive national conversation, UNICEF Ghana is rolling out two short digital series this month:
- UNICEF Talks: Kids Edition: A series shifting the spotlight directly to children. This initiative focuses on hearing directly from children’s perspective, exploring their thoughts on parenting, and highlighting how they want parents and adults to communicate and listen to them.
- "In Conversation" Parent Series: A three-part digital series providing a dedicated platform for parents to talk directly to other parents. This peer-to-peer conversation allows parents and caregivers to share lived experiences, discuss challenges, and offer mutual support.
The campaign coincides with the UN Global Day of Parents (June 1st), celebrated to recognize parents' contributions worldwide and to advocate for expanded family-centered policies.
