Progress of the UNICEF-WFP partnership for nutrition in the Horn of Africa
Review of joint nutrition actions in South Sudan and Ethiopia 2021-2024
Highlights
UNICEF and the World Food Programme (WFP) are working closely together to fulfil their global mandates to prevent and treat malnutrition in all its forms in the Horn of Africa. The two reports shared here showcase the wide scope of work undertaken by both agencies, and together, to prevent and treat child wasting in children under five years, support the health and nutrition of school-aged children, and build the nutrition resilience of fragile populations in South Sudan and Ethiopia. The reports demonstrate the complementarity of the agencies in providing joint support to governments in fragile and conflict affected countries, and innovative multi-sectoral programme approaches used to meet complex, changing needs.
