Highlights

By mid-century, Africa will house one billion children under 18, nearly 40 per cent of the world’s youth, and soon boast the largest young labor force on earth. Although the continent contributes relatively little to global emissions, it faces some of the greatest climate risks while holding immense potential for renewable energy and sustainable development that can drive economic growth and reduce emissions.

Investing in education in Eastern and Southern Africa does more than transform children’s lives: it builds the skilled workforce that powers long-term stability, economic growth, and climate resilience. These young changemakers will transform villages and cities into thriving communities where ecosystems recover, livelihoods prosper, and every child can look to the future with hope.
