Transforming education: Guide to unleashing the power of EdTech
Human-centred design toolkit to maximise the return on investment in EdTech
UNICEF, Aga Khan Foundation and Innovation Unit are pleased to present a new EdTech Guide to strengthen our global vision for digital learning for every child.
Building on analysis on what leads to effective EdTech investments, this guide has been designed to enable national governments, sub-national governments and schools to follow a human-centred design process to design impactful ICT-for-learning and EdTech solutions.
The process has four steps and eight tools. The broad approach is:
- Step 1: understand the challenges and opportunities
- Step 2: assess context leading to a scorecard
- Step 3: develop and test approaches
- Step 4: make a proposal for action.
There are two volumes – Volume I for schools and education providers and Volume II for national and sub-national governments. Below are links to the PDF guides and accompanying excel files to capture and analyse the data.
Volume 1
Volume I contains nine tools to help schools transform their teaching and learning with EdTech. These are for use by schools or other education providers including vocational education and training colleges, tertiary education providers, and other non-school education providers.
Resources available in English, French and Portuguese.
Volume 2
Volume II contains eight tools (there is no Tool 3) to enable national and sub-national teams transform education with EdTech.
Resources available in English, French and Portuguese.
Note: the EdTech Guide is new and we aim to test, refine and transform it into a dynamic online public good – watch this space for improvements.
