Building sustainable water services for displacement-affected communities
About
This evaluation provides an independent assessment of progress under the Regional WASH Programme for Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons and Host Communities in East Africa (R-WASH), a flagship UNICEF-UNHCR initiative supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the German Development Bank (KfW), Xylem and partners; and implemented jointly with the Governments of Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan. The findings demonstrate how investments in sustainable water systems are improving service delivery for displacement-affected communities while highlighting the actions needed to strengthen sanitation, reliability and long-term sustainability.
