Understanding public attitudes towards new childhood vaccines in Grenada
Insights to strengthen communication and build trust among parents and communities

In partnership with the Government of Grenada, UNICEF Eastern Caribbean conducted a national survey to better understand the attitudes of Grenadians towards the introduction of new childhood vaccines. The findings reflect consistent patterns of vaccine hesitancy observed in earlier studies, revealing that younger individuals and those with higher levels of education are more open to vaccination.
The survey also underscores the pivotal role of trusted health professionals and personalised communication in improving awareness and acceptance. While general knowledge about these new vaccines remains low, many parents have expressed willingness to consider them for their children—especially if reliable information on safety and long-term effects is made available.
This evidence-based assessment offers vital guidance for targeted, culturally sensitive outreach and supports national efforts to protect every child’s right to health.
