The online gaming industry creates digital environments that draw the attention of children around the world in a way few others can.

Online games give children the chance to learn, collaborate with others, connect with friends around the world, learn new things, and simply have fun. However, as is the case with many activities that children engage in online, children can also experience harm while playing games.

UNICEF actively engages with the online gaming industry with a goal of identifying risks, seizing opportunities, and providing the best possible digital play experiences for all children. In close consultation and engagement with a broad range of industry players and other experts since 2019, UNICEF has developed a core set of resources tailored to the online gaming ecosystem.
