Highlights

Despite a significant improvement in the security situation, children in the Central African Republic continue to face a lack of essential services: 2.3 million people – 37 per cent of the population – are in need of humanitarian assistance, including 1.2 million children.

In this report, UNICEF outlines the work carried out in the CAR in 2025 to support children, particularly the most vulnerable.

-Access to education, health, nutrition and water.

-Protection of children from violence, early marriage and lack of birth registration.

-Promoting the rights of children and adolescents and amplifying their voices.

We work with the CAR government, communities and our partners. Although much remains to be done, we are proud to present the year’s achievements, whilst highlighting the challenges that lie ahead.
