Félix Ackebo, UNICEF's representative in the Central African Republic

On 18 June 2025, Félix Ackebo officially took up his post as Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund in CAR.

Biographie

Felix Ackebo is the new UNICEF’s representative in the Central African Republic. He brings to the position over 30 years of professional experience, including 27 years with UNICEF. He previously served as UNICEF Representative in Guinea from January 2023 to May 2025.

Prior to this, he worked as Senior Coordinator in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) of UNICEF's Office of Emergency Programmes in New York. In this capacity, he coordinated humanitarian responses in several critical contexts, including Sudan, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Burkina Faso and Somalia.

Across his career, Mr Ackebo has also held positions as Deputy Representative in Guinea, Niger and Mali, as well as Head of Zone Office in Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In these roles, he contributed to the design and implementation of integrated programmes focusing on community resilience, response to protracted crises, and transition to development, particularly in fragile contexts.

Before joining UNICEF, he worked as head of socio-anthropological studies in a research consultancy in his native Cote d'Ivoire.

Felix Ackebo holds a Master's degree in Anthropology and another in Human Resources Management.
