I am Bunthorn. I live in the countryside in Ratanakiri province, a long, long way from the nearest big town. I live with my dad and my mum who have a little cafe. They sell breakfast and one thing I love is to help them.
I also love to come to school. I like learning and I also love to see my friends. My best friend is Ing, she’s a girl and she’s really funny. I love the Khmer language and also love to find out about animals, like lions and tigers and especially octopuses. They’re weird and great. I have never been to the seaside but I want to go there and see an octopus.

One place I did go was Siem Reap to see Angkor Wat. It was so nice, and I liked the temples. But what I loved most was all the police. I loved their uniforms and how they were making sure that there were no accidents on the roads. So, I have decided! I am going to be a policeman! I want to be the one to catch the bad guys. I’ve never met a bad guy yet but when I am a policeman, I bet I will meet some! I don’t like it when people ask me to play a game where I pretend to be a policeman and they pretend to be a bad guy. It’s not a game. It’s serious!
I wish I could eat sweet stuff more but my Mum doesn’t let me, so I always eat healthy food. I know I need to eat well to get strong and also finish school so I can become a policeman. I am a good student. I don’t just study in school, I study at home too! I do it because it’s very important to me that I am a policeman one day so I can protect people from accidents and bad guys.
