PHNOM PENH, 3 December 2025 – UNICEF and the European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Cambodia today signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (2025–2028) to strengthen private-sector engagement for children’s rights and well-being.
The partnership brings together EuroCham’s extensive business network and UNICEF’s technical expertise to promote responsible, child-sensitive, and sustainable business practices that help drive progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to child rights, education, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), health and nutrition, climate change, digital transformation, disability inclusion, gender equality, and youth empowerment.
“With their vast resources and expertise, businesses have a vital role to play in tackling pressing global challenges and shaping a safer and more sustainable world for every child,” said Dr Will Parks, UNICEF Representative in Cambodia. “We are proud to partner with the European Chamber of Commerce in this endeavour. By working hand in hand and putting child rights at the heart of sustainable business practice, we can innovate, scale our solutions, reach new markets, and address key challenges to unlock the full potential of Cambodia’s next generation.”
“EuroCham Cambodia is proud to enter this partnership with UNICEF, strengthening our shared commitment to promoting responsible business practices that uphold and advance child rights. Through joint awareness-raising, policy engagement, and capacity-building, we will empower our members to lead by example. This collaboration will help us drive collective action, mobilize expertise, and create a more enabling environment for Cambodia’s young people to thrive,” said Mr. Martin Brisson, EuroCham Cambodia Executive Director.
Through this collaboration, UNICEF and EuroCham aim to mobilize the private sector as a powerful driver of positive change for children and youth by embedding child rights into core business strategies, investments, and operations.
Under the partnership, EuroCham members will be encouraged and supported to contribute to UNICEF programmes through responsible business conduct, child-lens investments, and sustainability practices. The collaboration also aims to raise awareness across the business community about child rights and responsible corporate behaviour, aligned with European Union sustainability and due-diligence standards.
In addition, the partnership will create opportunities for collective action, including through youth empowerment initiatives, capacity-building activities, and the development of joint guidance and business tools that help translate child rights principles into practical action.
