The message of this year's World Children's Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina is "Create a world worth celebrating". One of the activities of UNICEF BiH in cooperation with the UEFA, BiH Football Association, the Special Olympics BiH and Youth Sports Games is the celebration of the World Children's Day during the national team match against Slovakia where the BiH national team players, accompanied by girls and boys from the Pazarić Institution and members of the "Winner" Sports Association from Zenica, came out in the colours of UNICEF and sent a message to children and a reminder to the world that children's rights must be respected at all times and that we should all work together to create a world for them that is worth celebrating.
The example of the national team members was followed by all football clubs in BiH who as part of the 15th round of the Premier League of BiH, walked out with children in front of the stands and with a live broadcast in t-shirts with the colours of UNICEF and showed that, when it comes to children's rights and support in their realization, there can be only one team.
It should be noted that the Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted on November 20, 1989, which was signed by 196 countries, making it the fastest and most widely accepted agreement in the field of international human rights in history, and contains universal standards that states must ensure for every child. The world then made a promise that all children will be guaranteed equal rights and that it will do everything to protect and ensure their rights to survive, develop, learn and develop to their full potential.
Children's rights are a topic that should be discussed every day and create a world for them in accordance with their rights. Children are our present and future, generations that remain and are the foundation for better times, and for which the world united 34 years ago in the desire to become a place worthy of every child. Unfortunately, today it is difficult to say that we are close to the goal, but it is important that every individual realizes that they can make a difference and join the promotion and protection of children's rights and join us in creating a world worth celebrating.
