Highlights

The family is the most important influence on a child’s development and future outcomes. Parenting education helps empower parents on the development and care of children, thereby contributing to improved childcare and parenting practices.

An integral component of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD), the National Parenting Education Programme is designed to give parents with low levels of education the skills to effectively support their child’s development.

The manual is a reference for ECCD facilitators to conduct parenting programmes in their communities and contains activities that are culturally and contextually relevant.
