Girls are leaders, innovators, and changemakers and they must not be left behind in a rapidly evolving digital world. When girls are empowered with education and skills, they don’t just shape their own futures; they help transform communities and societies.

UNICEF is proud to partner with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology on the #LeadLikeA501Girl initiative, which is opening doors for girls across Belize to explore STEAM pathways and build the skills they need for a future shaped by technology and innovation.

At today’s opening ceremony, UNICEF Representative Sajid Ali reaffirmed UNICEF’s commitment to supporting girls’ education by promoting strong female role models and expanding opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics (STEAM) and information and communications technology (ICT). These spaces are essential for preparing girls to thrive in the modern world and to lead it.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that UNICEF has supported this initiative, reinforcing our commitment to fostering girls’ interest and confidence in digital and technology‑driven careers.

Through this partnership, UNICEF continues to champion efforts to reimagine education - one that equips girls with the digital skills, creativity, and opportunities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. By investing early in girls’ learning and leadership, we are helping to close the gender digital divide and ensure that every girl can shape her own future.

UNICEF and partners are helping ensure that every girl has the opportunity to learn, create, and lead. Because when girls are equipped with future‑ready skills, they gain confidence, independence, and the power to shape positive change.

When girls rise, communities rise.

When girls lead, the future becomes brighter for everyone!

And now, it is time for the next innovator.

Her name is yours.
