Empowering future leaders
UNICEF supports girls’ leadership camp in Dangriga, Stann Creek
UNICEF proudly supported a 5-day Girls’ Empowerment Camp in Dangriga, Stann Creek, where 30 adolescent girls aged 5 to 12 came together to build skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, confidence building, and financial literacy.
Throughout the camp, the girls were encouraged to develop innovative business ideas—whether products or services—and were guided through the process of creating their own business plans. As part of the hands-on learning experience, the participants also visited a local entrepreneur, gaining valuable insights into real-world challenges and the perseverance required to succeed.
UNICEF believes that empowering girls is an investment in their future—and the future of their communities. By nurturing leadership and entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, initiatives like this camp help lay the foundation for a more equitable and prosperous society.
