Psychosocial support for children and youth on the move
In Italy, UNICEF has developed an adapted version of the Adolescent Kit that was officially launched in 2023 jointly with the Professional order of Psychologists, Professional Order for Social Workers, and Federation of Associations of Educators and Pedagogists. UNICEF’s Child Protection and Adolescent Development and Participation partners are now using the Adolescent Kit in reception centres that host unaccompanied minors and young migrants and refugees throughout Italy. In 2023, UNICEF and its partners also delivered multiple trainings for a wide range of practitioners working in the reception system and in Social-Recreational Centres. UNICEF is now continuing to roll out and build capacity for use of the Adolescent Kit in reception centres throughout the country.
