In Afghanistan, the Adolescent Kit has become a critical tool in supporting adolescent girls in accessing education and learning opportunities within their communities. The Kit is integrated into UNICEF's efforts to engage adolescents through local women and girls' safe spaces, providing them with opportunities for expression, learning, and empowerment. 

In 2024, approximately 9,000 adolescents—primarily out-of-school girls—benefited from the localized and culturally adapted versions of the Adolescent Kit. These safe spaces, negotiated with local leaders and authorities, became hubs for adolescent engagement, allowing girls to access life skills education and participate in meaningful peer-to-peer interactions. UNICEF also trained facilitators from partner organizations to use the Adolescent Kit effectively, strengthening local capacity for implementation. The vibrant, structured materials facilitated challenging but essential conversations, helping girls see themselves as agents of change within their communities. 

Looking ahead, UNICEF plans to scale up this impactful initiative, ensuring more adolescents in Afghanistan can benefit from the Adolescent Kit, even those in hard-to-reach settings.
