Whoever she is, wherever he lives. Every child deserves a childhood.
UNICEF’s work in Nepal is based on the Basic Cooperation Agreement concluded between the Government and UNICEF on 21 February 1996. UNICEF provides technical support at the grassroots level in the Gaunpalikas and Nagarpalikas, and the experiences garnered in the process will guide its strategy to influence policies and programmes at the national level. Some of UNICEF’s support goes for programmes with nationwide coverage, like immunization while other support are channeled through selected Gaunpalikas and Nagarpalikas in Provinces 2, Gandagi, 5, Karnali and Sudur Paschim Province. Also, there is specific sectoral support such as nutrition, child protection in other provinces and districts. UNICEF’s country office is in Kathmandu. The field support are provided through three field offices, each in the capitals of Provinces 2, 5 and Karnali Province.
