The UNICEF Sustainability and Climate Change Action Plan 2023-2030

Executive Summary

About

The planetary crisis of climate change, environmental pollution and biodiversity loss has put virtually every child in the world at risk – with one billion children facing extreme risks to their ability to survive, grow and thrive. We know that children are the least responsible for this global emergency, yet they shoulder the greatest burden of its impact.

We can and must do more to confront this child rights crisis. That is why UNICEF's Sustainability and Climate Change Action Plan 2023-2030 galvanizes a global commitment to ensure a sustainable world and to protect the most vulnerable children from the worst impacts of a changing climate and degrading environment.

The Sustainability and Climate Change Action Plan outlines UNICEF’s organizational response to this crisis and focus areas for action and partnerships – delivering the best results cannot be achieved by UNICEF working alone.

The Action Plan is available in Arabic, English, French and Spanish.
