Rapid assessment to assess both direct and indirect socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on children and their families.

UNICEF Viet Nam
02 April 2020

UNICEF is looking for a qualified institution to conduct a rapid assessment to assess both direct and indirect socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on children and their families. The assessment has multiple purposes:

  • Rapid assessment of the situation of children and families while NPI measures are in place.
  • Identification of potential medium and long-term consequences for further research.
  • Identification of research framework and questions to inform the development of the subsequent sentinel surveillance system and quantitative and qualitative analysis on the well-being of children and families affected.
  • Support programming – both humanitarian and long-term – as well as policy advocacy to safeguard the well-being of children. The assessment will help UNICEF to advocate the Government of Viet Nam and partners to be better prepared and responsive to epidemics and pandemics in the future, and also safeguard continuous provision of services and interventions to sustain the well-being of children.
