Viet Nam is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change. Each year, increasingly frequent and severe floods, storms, droughts and landslides put millions of children and families at risk — disrupting education, threatening health and nutrition, and endangering lives and livelihoods.
Our emergency response focuses on:
- Clean water and sanitation to prevent disease
- Nutrition and health services for the most vulnerable children
- Child protection and psychosocial support
- Education assistance, so learning can continue after the disasters
- Emergency cash assistance to help families recover faster
Our impact each year
Thanks to the support of donors and partners, UNICEF Viet Nam reaches:
- Hundreds of thousands of children affected by climate-related disasters annually
- Dozens of provinces impacted by floods, storms and droughts
- Schools, health facilities and communities to restore essential services quickly
Climate change is a growing threat to children
As climate change intensifies, emergencies are becoming more frequent, unpredictable and complex. Children are often the hardest hit - yet they are also the least responsible for the crisis. Investing in preparedness, rapid response and climate-resilient services is essential to protect their future.
